- Segment - A flight journey from home airport to holiday airport, or vice versa.
- Leg or SubSegment - A flight journey within the segment.
- A new leg occurs if the flight designator (number) changes at a stop; generally implies that the passenger changes planes.
- A segment must contain at least one leg.
- Stop - A stop is any landing of a plane before the destination of the segment.
- Trip - One or more segments booked together.
- Non-stop/Nonstop - A flight with no stops
- Multi-leg/Multileg - An indirect flight, i.e segment consists of more than one leg.
- Multi-stop/Multistop - A direct flight (one leg) but with stop(s).
